I worked for an online wine retailer called Lot18 for a little over a year. Around that time, I attended my first Eyeo festival and was inspired to visualize some Lot18 sales data.
This time-lapse below plots 2011 orders against a US map. Lines connect orders with different shipping and billing addresses. The time-lapse compressed a full year into 2 minutes and 4 seconds and rendered approximately 250,000 orders.

The visualization below connects products sold during 2011 to members of the procurement team. The total number of products per Procurement member are totaled as the entire product map is traversed.
