JOHNNY CASH, A LONG WAY AROUND TO A LONESOME SOUND

In October 2017 I was invited to speak at the Johnny Cash Heritage Festival in Dyess, AR. Arkansas State University has restored Johnny Cash's childhood home which was built in 1934 as part of a New Deal program to help resettle rural farmers impacted by the Great Depression.

My talk was about trends in Johnny Cash's lyrics and audio qualities over six decades of writing and recording music. Please check out the summary of the talk as Part 1 and Part 2.
